How will dying change Agent May on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Teresa
Pretty much how youd expect. Well, shes May, so shes kind of like, Oh, that happened, EP Jed Whedon says with a laugh. But she now has common ground with Coulson, as if they didnt have enough common ground as it is. However, EP Maurissa Tancharoen is quick to add that
dying will impact her life in ways that you may not expect at this point in time.

I love this thing about AoS. Unlike other CMB shows, pretty much everything has consequences. Even if its as pointless a plotline as getting possessed by a ghost. Due to this, characters evolve and become something more. May's character has had least development since season 1. We got to see her backstory and we met her parents, husband etc but she is still pretty much the same May we met in s1e1. I can't wait to see her character evolve this season. Should be fun! -

She has evolved some from season one. Season one, she didn't care about the team, only the job and she didn't want to care.
Over time, she acts like she's indifferent at times but you can tell she's not and really cares about her people, and by people, I mean, Coulson's team.
Adding her parents and her ex-husband added depth and backstory. Andrew showed her lighter side and losing Andrew the way she did has made her draw inward some.
In many ways, she always appears stoic. But she's shown us a lot of layers. -

And she is such a vivacious, fun person in real life, if you have ever watched any of the comic con or similar interviews. I think she does a great job at acting, on AoS, as a stoic person. It is so not in her wheelhouse as a real person. I loves me some May! Not to mention, she is the hottest lady I've ever seen over 50 years old. She is amazing!

My first thought when May was revived using AIDA's power source is that something would be transferred between the two. AIDA could have absorbed something dark from what had infected May, or May could have gained something from AIDA's battery that will play out in future episodes. We'll see. Regardless, May is a badass, and I'm glad that all of her trials and tribulations over the past few seasons haven't caused her to falter or be watered-down/mellowed-out.
