The premiere was actually pretty strong. Yes, I would have liked to have seen a big comic book version Flashpoint stretched out over like three eps incorporating all the Arrowverse characters. But that was obviously not feasible schedule wise nor possible with the budget. So I had the right frame of mind for this. I think majority of the ep was terrific. For the first time I had actually like Barry/Iris. Grant and Candace showed chemistry better than they have before. It was also nice to see Barry being happy. Kid Flash was pretty awesome. His costume was great. Rival was just ok but he wasn't really the point of the ep so he didn't really matter. It was awesome to see Barry kick some ass by himself. The scenes with Barry and Thawne were awesome. Really well acted. Matt really ripped into those scenes. Plus, I love that there are consequences and Barry realizes the mistake he has made and the ripple effect it may have in the timeline. There was some hokey romance dialogue and there are some holes in the time travel logic but it sets an interesting issue for the rest of the season. Plus, Alchemy gets an appropriately creepy start. Overall a better premiere than season 2 which I also liked. A strong 8.5/10.

An excellent premiere except for Rival's silly Creature from the Black Lagoon costume.
