WB isn't marketing the F out of the films to be compared to Iron Man II or The Incredible Hulk. Its quite clear they're going for the big splash.
and when you consider they market the piss out of all the popular characters for maximum opening weekend numbers, the rest of the run isn't really that glorious. Guardians had a 95 mil opening weekend domestic compared to SS having 135 mil and yet Guardians will probably beat it out with the final take.

It would have flopped in China.
Seriously, if they thought it was going to do well there, they could have fixed the supernatural angle, fiddled with the dubbing.
They knew it was going to flop there. And allowing for inflation, GOTG would still have been ahead.
And you'd still be making up excuses for a film that just couldn't deliver the goods. -

what are you talking about. SS has beaten guardians in almost all international market specially in asia. Guardians took 90M in china and freaking ant man scored 110m there. SS is bound to be huge in china.
this movie has the potential to earn 150M or more there! and at best worldwide with china SS would be around 900M. -
