think about her like a plant hence poison ivy she got dropped into a huge amount of water right ? so like a plant with tons of water she grows very very quickly !

No it is because the one guy that ages people had a grip on her for one second before falling. Enough to age her slightly. Rather clever of the writers. They either planned that all along or they realized they needed to do something with the girl and used that as a fix.
