It's another movie by Sergei M. Eisenstein. It was interesting to watch for the film history, since Eisenstein helped shape a lot of filmmaking at the time. And the music that was put to it was decent and worked well IMO. It's not something I'd watch again, but definitely worth a watch at least once.

I've seen Ivan the Terrible and it was certainly a cinematic experience.

You only prove my point by only being able to mention some of the most famous, respected and awarded movies in cinematic history as better-looking.
In the realm of blockbuster studio films, it doesn't look like anyone is coming up with any others to compare. So when a blockbuster like BVS compares favorably to a list of classics, that proves my point.

First of all, my list has more than just a few classics on it. Biutiful is from 2011 and The Revenant is from 2015. The Return is from 2003. It's not my fault you are not familiar with them since two of them would require reading subtitles. As stunning as they are, they are hardly considered classics. Second, your OT did not make any mention of blockbusters. You vaguely discussed The Martian, which as fun as it was a masterpiece it was not.
So, if you want to talk blockbusters, lets start with Jaws. Not only is it beautifully shot, it has one of the best scores in cinematic history. The opening sequence on the beach built suspense and expectation without showing anything. BvS doesn't even come close to the artistry that is Steven Spielbeg. Lets stay with Spielbeg and discuss Saving Private Ryan. No other WWII movie comes close to the visceral visuals that is that film, Or what about Raiders of the Lost Ark, the opening sequence is one of the most entertaining in blockbuster history.
Another stunning blockbuster was Mad Max; Fury Road. The vivid colors jumped at you and the music score was a lot of fun. BvS is nowhere near that level. The chase into the dust storm was epic. BvS is saturated in blues just like MOS and it gives the film a dull and grim look. It certainly has a lot of visual moments but they are all disconnected and do not tell a story, which defeats the purpose of cinema.
Look, I get you like BvS but it cannot be compared to the likes of Spielberg, or George Miller. Hack Snyder is very good at painting pictures but those pictures are empty and devoid of any deep meaning. All the visuals of BvS are to present Superman as a messiah, which the director had already done in MoS. And it's hard to feel for Clark when he looks constipated throughout the movie.
If you think that the shot from the insidie of Lois' locker is a poetic shot, then you must love every high school movie ever made since they all have at least one shot like that. Let me give you some advice, if you want to discuss the cinematography of BvS you better pick a less superficial scene than the locker shot. It makes you look silly.

You're kidding right? People aren't allowed to find this film beautiful because you make the assumption they haven't seen another beautiful movie? And what does one beautiful movie have to do with another? NOTHING. There are many types of masterpieces or beautiful or visually stunning films out there. The existence of one does not invalidate the quality of another. That's fing BS reasoning.

When you haven't seen many visually stunning movies, you get you and jedi girl making stupid comparisons with far superior films. Don't try to come off as educated in film when you make flimsy comments about a locker shot that has been done to death in high school movies or any sports movie for that matter. You sound incredibly silly when you talk about film and you cannot come up with a better shot than that.

It is a truly beautiful film and Snyder has a good eye for special effects and I wrote as much on my review.
Problem is that's where it ends. In terms of story and script. It is no where near the level of

They're very different kinds of scripts, but they're close to equal. I find them to be two of the best special-effects-type movies of the past couple years. BVS is much more of an emotional story, whereas Martian to me is much heavier on technical, problem-solving aspects. BVS is more about the characters' journeys whereas in Martian, the characters don't change or grow at all, they just solve complicated problems.

Keep writing drive-by, snarky comments with nothing to back them up. Try to write fewer, better posts if you want to make an impact rather than a lot of random, meaningless ones.

Oh I'm sorry, the person making the random idiotic posts is YOU.
You can't even give proof when the burden of proof is on your shoulders.
But then again, what can you expect from a man who thinks the shallowest comic book movie is more poetic than Tree of Life and thinks that major disrespect is "Rivalry".
Seriously Jedi, grow up. You disgrace your handle by claiming to be a Jedi when you really act like a Hutt.

If your girlfriend comes up and tells your bill collector that your mom is kidnapped and you need some help, I tend to believe he will stop asking for your money and go to help you.
