Yeah, it's not good for a show that's just come back from hiatus to then immediately have another break. People get confused, forget, etc.
I swear, on a somewhat related note, somebody needs to come up with some kind of scientific system about how to schedule programming. I swear it's just whoever's in charge making decisions will-nilly and sometimes that means really good shows get lost in the shuffle and never find an audience. 😞

At least in my country, if there are important political debates (let's say Presidential or Parliamentarian), it is usually aired only on one national (state) television channel (owned by the state). All of the other channels do not air any debates, but carry on with their specific programming.

They kind of have to do it that way because they know most people won't watch otherwise. Just like everyone here would all be watching Lucifer. Voter participation is not great in this country so running the debates on every channel forces people to get a little informed.
Also, there are laws about equal air time for candidates and this way the networks fulfill their obligations.

Personally I blame Trump, he saw the gag reel took offense and got the debate scheduled on a Lucifer night as revenge.

It won't win him any votes, that's for sure.

Unfortunately he most likely has enough people voting for him so I'm sure it doesn't matter to him. I watched a jaywalking segment (I forget what it was on) and people said they would vote for Trump even if he murdered someone. I'd like to think that it was staged though but based on how Trump supporters tend to sound I wouldn't be surprised.
I try to live without regret but I'm about to break a sweat.

Wow that says a lot about Trump voters and that's scary. Gotta wonder how many of the 'million moms' are voting for trump and yet get so bent out of shape over a fictional character on a tv show.

You know that "One Million Moms" is a scam, right? It's just a racist, misogynist, homophobic, father-son duo who created "The American Family Association" and a "Mom" website to push their agenda and pretend they have a lot of support. They really can't muster enough numbers to make much of an impact but they get media attention because it sounds so sensational. One Million Moms! Talk about hypocritical and deceptive. Too bad we don't protest people and organizations like that more. Like how is Westborough Baptist Church even still in business (and it IS a business) with all of the hate speech they spew and violence they promote? It's supposed to be a church, for crying out loud!

They should of just given Gotham the night off or scheduled everything earlier.

It is the US Presidential debates. So cancel the show in the US, not the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, television doesn't work that way.
Hey, you're lucky you're getting it at the same time we are. We always have to wait forever to get British shows, the few we actually get.

It really sucks for us outside of the US who don't give a shcyte about their politics, but hey at least we're not the ones looking at Trump as president.

Many of us, and I truly hope it's actually MOST of us, don't get Trump either. It's like the fringe elements have hijacked our politics somehow. Usually I can understand the undecided voters who truly want to study the candidates but this year it's just too obvious, it's the nutjob vs. sane person. Seriously, how hard can it be? Democrat or Republican doesn't even matter, we're talking mental capacity here.

Well, we've also never selected a female for president; according to our tallies, that's another thing people are hissing about here, and not for any other reason but that.
Honestly, most of us aren't too keen about her either.. Bernie at least struck a cord as being honest - which is what we want - but those candidates need to be heard earlier on - so as to get them out there. I do not feel they did that properly w/Bernie. Hillary kinda picked that up as she's been in the midst for a WHILE to say the least! ..to say the least..!
Honestly, the debates should just be over they drag out all this for their own media cycle we've been endlessly hearing about the 2016 election since 2012! That's just depraved I wouldn't be surprised if we could care less because* of this never ending media cycle they put us through.. it's was just one wacko after another, really. Some kind of weird circus show - reality style with just as many adolescent zingers about only THE most important of issues affecting us
So just play Lucifer, I would say.

                                      And racist vs non-racist.
To be honest, it's kind of freaked me outthat people, even in my own network of neighbors, family and friends, can be okay with Trump. I do not believe you can support that guy and not be racistor all of the other "ists" he is. It's sobering to me. I mean, when a few of my circle voted for Bush the first and second times, I was disappointed, but I didn't literally question them as human beings. With Trump, that's what's happening, I'm questioning their character. And I don't think I'll ever really get over it. To give a psycho the nuclear keys and justify it because of their own selfish wants, I just can't handle it. Also, I'm having trouble with anyone who refuses to vote for Hillary because they were Bernie supporters. If those people get Trump elected by default, I don't think I'll ever feel the same about them either.
First time in my life I've felt this way, but it's the first time we've had such an extreme and dangerous candidate for President. I'm not saying others haven't been dangerous, but people were duped by them. Trump is overt, he lets everyone know exactly what kind of despicable person he is, and still they're okay with it? That's a scary thing.
