I may have missed it but why was the army such dicks FF but overly nice to Doom? It made no sense to me. Reed pretty much figures everything out and all Doom contributes is the surfer gets his power from his board. They get locked up for coming up with a way to save the world and Doom, a convicted terrorist, is allowed to be around the all-powerful board for one piece of information. also how did they get that video of Doom and Surfer in the first place?

The video of Doom and the Surfer was shot from Doom's helicopter so Doom provided it.

technically doom wasn't convicted, not that it really matter because this wasn't a particularly good movie, though it was at least a step up from the first one

What? This was worse than the first one, not better!
Also, Doom was shipped back to Latveria at the end of the first film because he killed several people (a medical doctor, a director of his company) fired a missile at the Baxter building, endangered the lives of a bus full of passengers and wrecked part of the city nearby.
In this film all of Doom's crimes are inexplicably forgiven and instead Reed is suddenly the "bad guy" (in the General's eyes) - apparently because he likes to party before his wedding only agreed to build the detector in secret!
This film was just plain stupid

The film wasn't stupid. This would happen if there was a threat to the world.
