I liked Constantine. I did. He certainly has an otherworldly light to him.

It is not undeserved. He destroyed one of my favorite comic books and now he ios going to dothe same with one of the most amazing anime series ever - Cowboy Bebop.
BUT Hellblazer is in my opinion a kind of difficult movie to be made very dark, complex and with a lot of mythology to be explained before you can actually enjoy it I don't know, maybe for the general audience It's sad they took one of the finest horror comics ever written and dumbed it down for the masses
Keanu deserves all the hate he receives for this movie and in fact, I think he deserves more, given the fact that most people who haven't read the comic think he was great here So triste!
Had Jack Bauer been a Spartan, the movie would be called "1" -

But many of the changes of comic-film were not his fault. He wasn't a producer. I don't think it's fair to blame him for, say, the butchering of Chas or the completely different view they two Constantines have for Heaven/Hell.
I'm not saying he was great in this movie but I think, generally, people blame him not for his performance but for the product overall.
It happens the same thing with Pride and Prejudice and Keira Knightley. Did the movie have faults? Yes. Is she to blame for all of them? No!

"I think Keanu takes a lot of undeserved grief."
Like when he was accused of being the killer in The Gift? Well he was a wife beating red neck at least.
"He certainly has an otherworldly light to him."
He's from Canada. He just needs to spend more time in the sun and away from the igloos, and that pale look will soon cease.

I thought that this was a great comic book adaptation and i thought that Keanu did a great job as Constantine. I don't know if i can see anyone else playing the role as well as he did

I think he's a pretty limited actor, in terms of the range he seems able (or willing) to portray. I do however think that his limitations had no bearing on this part. I think it worked perfectly for the part of Constantine.
This is the only role I like him in that comes to my mind. -

I happen to agree.
He kind of reminds me of Nic Cage, he's not the greatest of actors out there, but somehow I seem to enjoy pretty much every movie he's in.

I second this opinion. Nicholas Cage is also one of my favourite actors, yes he's not the best actor in the world with acting skills that make you go "wow!" but there is that charisma & likeability he has that makes his films enjoyable. Keanu Reeves is cut out from the same mould.

and I happen to love Keanu in this film. in fact this film & his performance is what made me into a full-fledged fan. -

I don't think he's a particularly versatile actor, but in this film he was absolutely spot on. That smirk when he's in the lift and she asks him if he's going down . . .

Apart from the tattoos and the nonstop chimney, hes exactly the same as Neo. The guy can only play one type. Different setting and all that but watch this, Matrix, Mnemonic, and you see three exact the same character with a little habitual differences.
But he does seem to pop up in alot of cool movies, movies were acting isnt required i guess
Any last words ?

I agree with the OP. Keanu is a solid actor and he did a very good job in this movie. His acting style is different from other actors and maybe some people don't seem to understand it. That's all right because he always does his best in his roles.

Don't be silly. Film companies don't put just anybody into their $100 million dollar movies. They carefully pick actors who are most likely to bring them a profit. Keanu has proved himself over and over as one of those few guys who can do it. -

To be honest, I LOVED this film. I agree with Nicholas Cage comment because I'm a big fan of his as well and I've enjoyed pretty much every film I've seen them in. Keanu CAN act though, though he's sorta typecasted as a guy who CAN'T act well, his performances in Devil's Advocate, The Gift, Street Kings, A Scanner Darkly & The Matrix movies are some of the BEST I've seen from him. It's sad that most people still see his acting from Johnny Mnemonic and the Bill & Ted movies.

I liked Constantine a lot as well, as a matter of fact I liked all the films Keanu has been in. The Devil's Advocate and The Lake House just to name a few. This film is really good, I never miss it when it's on air.
