Having the villain steal her boyfriend and put her in the phantom zone where she's powerless. That's probably the worst I've ever seen a super hero go through in an 80s movie.
At least when Clark lost his powers it was because he gave them up willingly.

Clark also had Daddy to explain things to him about Earth when he was still naive enough. Kara had to figure things out for herself.
When will you ever learn, this feeling is all you can discern?
