All in all not a bad movie, of course I'd rather read the book but thats true of just about anything. I can understand why the changed how things ended with the witches but why the changed the events on the sky ship I just don't get. Movie was worth seeing once maybe twice but I'll just read the book if given the option.

All movie adaptations differ from the novels they are based on, some are more faithful than others.
      Its that man again!!

Well I have read the book as well and I actually liked the Movie better.
The Ending with the Witches was much better than in the book.
Now in the Book The Sky ship played a very small part in the story but
in the film the sequence is longer.
The reasons why they changed it I don't know maybe because Robert De Niro
is a big Name and they wanted him to have a bigger role in the film.
But Whatever the reason I am glad they did it.
I thought Captain Shakespeare added some great Comedy to the film
because the film was just starting to get a little dark and then De Niro
shows up in his flying ship and adds some much needed lighter tone to the film.
Also the scene with De Niro doing the cancan was just hilarious best scene
in the whole Movie for me.

I actually liked the movie better. Maybe it's because I first saw the movie and then read the book. The book is just too gloomy and I wasn't prepared for that, even after the American Gods. And yes, I do prefer the movie's very happy ending to the very sad ending of the book (the star living FOREVER after her true love dies? That just breaks my heart).

Same here the movie was much better. I saw the movie first and was actually a bit disappointed by the book. The only bad thing about the movie is how the witch decides to let them go, then changes her mind again and explodes from the light of Yvainejust thought they could've come up with something better than that.
