I take the lack of a cliffhanger to be a bad omen for the future of the show. It strikes me that the producers weren't sure themselves if the show would be renewed so they ended the season with no loose ends just in case. And while I don't want another "John Doe", should the show be renewed, there isn't anything dangling to make us excited for the start of a third season.
In spite of what people thought about this season I do want it to come back. Yes last season's cliffhanger was wrapped up way too fast. And some stuff this season was ridiculous. Mrs. Pucci always questioning what they were doing and tonight's repeat of Geneva come to mind. That being said, I did like most of this season. I think the addition of Ames and Pucci actually were good. We got to see a much more human side to the characters that we would not have gotten to otherwise. I don't think the boy's club of last season had the character development of this season.
I really like this show and want it back. It is a throwback to old school action adventure shows. I watch it and actually feel good doing so. I get wrapped up in the good guys can win aspect of it. It isn't reality TV. It isn't some bizarre show that tries to keep the viewer guessing. It is just plain simple fun. And Guerrero is a fantastic character.
Here is hoping that we see more of him and the show next season.

I don't believe there was much of a cliffhanger last season, and the episode had a similar title (name of character). It may have been a bad omen then as well. It was more of a "what is the future of this show" kind of an omen. They didn't know whether to have a "series finale" or a continuation episode. To me, I think they are doing the same thing here. Especially, with the exposure to "American Idol" viewers, people may give this show a second look. Although, Entertainment Weekly's "Survival Card" had "Human Target" in the "Danger Zone". I'm not sure what that means though.

I thought this finale was an okay episode of television, but nothing worthy of a show that's normally as good as Human Target is.
The fact is, this finale was all about Ilsa. But the show is (or was at least) all about Chance. I don't understand why the writers/producers got so bored with the main characters that they saw the need to have a three episode story arc where Ilsa finds out some mythic truth about her husband whom we the viewer never even met.
Yes, Guerrerro is awesome. And despite the fact that cool guys slow-mo walking away from explosions has become a mega-cliche over the past decade, I thought that shot with Guerrerro was beautifully staged and really gorgeous to watch.
I just hate that Ilsa had more screen time than Chance, when the show was always meant to be about Chance.
Not to mention there wasn't very much action in this episode. A couple of well-staged set-ups but nothing particularly memorable.
I hope they bring the show back in a way that takes things they learned from this season and makes the proper adjustments.

We know all there is to know about Chance. Besides Katherine, season 1 left no mystery in Chance's past. Still, each episode is about a client, not Chance, and Pucci was pretty much the client in this finale.

The first season music was one of the best theme songs I've ever heard. This second season theme is the absolute WORST thing I've ever heard. The last four measures sounds like an unquantized mess that was never finished. Just makes me cringe.

think I'm cursed. Every time I hear about or see a really cool interesting unique show, FOX CANCELS IT! Why me? Why US? I almost wish I had never seen John Doe to spare the agony of an unjust cancellation with a wicked cliffhanger ending.
I quite frankly do not understand it, this was the little channel that could, the channel that kept the X-Files on for YEARS and years when no one watched, and yet they wrecked it once people started watching it. First it was Sliders, not a super intelligent show but new and unique and Fox swapped it to Sci Fi for the atrocious Friday the 13th the Series and then Sci Fi proceeded to ruin Sliders with the 'Cro-mags'.
Then it was Firefly, the little show that rocked intelligent Sci Fi fans everywhere, I mean they even got the no sound in space thing right WHICH RULED. And now John Doe.
Hey Fox? Here's an idea if you have an exciting, unique, and interesting show and you want it to succeed do not skimp on the advertising, and oh yes do not CONSTANTLY CHANGE THE TIME SLOT, even the most hardcore fan has a life to lead. And that goes for USA too, I'm still smarting over Touching Evil you rotten SOBs.
So in conclusion John Doe was a fantastic show that now has me jonesing for more that will never ever come.
And while I'm at it here's a shout out to Sci Fi. Stop screwing up like Fox does, stop showing god forsaken WRESTLING, fire the CEO who runs Sci Fi channel and doesn't like Sci Fi, stop making Stargate SG-1 suck and renew it for another season so you can at least wrap up the Ori without making one of your infamously craptacular Sci Fi original movies, and oh yeah STOP making your Sci Fi channel original movies, just because you can make a movie for like $50 in Bulgaria DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD.
JUST LIKE HUMAN TARGET FOX HASN'T GOTTEN ANY SMARTER

I guess I didn't think the season was over. I was waiting and hoping for more. I LOVE this show. I hope that TNT or USA picks it up because Fox under the Reilly regime doesn't seem to know how to handle a good show. Kevin Reilly ruined NBC and he seems fully capable of doing it to Fox. Without 'Glee' and "American Idol" the network is kind've a wasteland for live action.

I thought ep 12 was the finale. That would have been great. Ep 13 just felt like a quick sloppy add on, which means this could be the end of the show. I love this show and I hope for it to continue, but if a 3rd season is gonna happen, I would like to see one that's as high quality as the 1st season. 2nd season was not bad, but nowhere as good as 1st season.
