I know posts like this crop up simontaniously but it has to be said. This is one of the most underrated movies on IMDB. I gave this movie a solid 9/10. It has everything a vampire fanatic could possibly want in a movie; action, fight scenes, special effects, brilliant acting plus a new breed of vampire?. It doesn't even matter if your a big fan on vampire movies, this one is a must-see, no questions asked.
    I'm 16, I first saw it when I was 10 and I loved it.
    anyone else agree??

I remember when this came out, the critics were not abrasive toward it. They actually gave it pretty high marks. I saw it twice in theaters, and I still love it. I may have gone back to the first Blade as my favorite in the series, but Blade II has received some unnecessary criticism. I just like Del Toro's style. He doesn't deviate much, but he knows how to direct dark action.
      I want some toquitos!

I agree. This was higher than 7.0 when it first came out, I think it was like 7.5. It was higher than Blade I, which it should be. Now it dropped a lot, I guess haters brought it down

Blade [1]. it's opening scene gives it the edge over Blade 2 for me
            And all will turn
            To silver glass
            A light on the water
            Grey ships pass
            Into the west

Umm.sure it was a great film for Vampire fans, but I definitely would not give it a 9.A solid 6.5 would be good for me.Personally I didn't like it that much.

I thought it was great and gave it the same as you. I especially liked the part where the 2 ninjas they sent to get him, got into the little jumping around session with Blade(I was just watching it, makes ya want to get up & jump around! lol)

This movie is 10 and is in my Top 3 movies of all time.
I think what really did it for me was Nomak. He is one of the best villians ever made. A vampire who eats other vampires, and immune to nearly everything, how cool is that. In the 1st blade; blade used anticoagulant to kill homeboy that turned into the blood god. When blade used that stuff on Nomak; Nomak laughed at him, if thats not a force to be reckoned with, I don't know what is. There was a real sense of fear that was introduced when first watching it. Other then that the fight scenes were the best I've seen, the lighting and color filters were great. Then stages and the environment there were in visually great. The CG could have been better; but i got the point unlike some haters out there.

Nomak was the ish! He, Darth Maul, Spawn, Blackheart, the Witchking and especially The Balrog are some of the dopest characters ever divised.

Agree with you folks. Blade II is quite underrated. Even the inferior "Blade I" has a higher rating (If only slightly higher).
Something around 7.5 would be a more reasonable and fair rating.

Caught this on TV the other day, I've seen it before but it just reminded me how much I like this one. I think this is the best of the series. The setting is great, real dark and gothic and european. I love that for vampire flicks. The plot is pretty cool, with the evolved vampires killing vampires. I like how they made them like "crack addicts" as assad said they were real vicious monsters with an insatiable thirst and dressed like bums. Blade seems to have more of a swagger in this one, and all of the actors were pretty sweet. Ron Pearlman and the dude from boondock saints were great in their roles. The ending was great too, 1 last sunrise with the vampire he had an affinity for. One of the best vampire movies out there.
the only thing that made me cringe was the "atomic elbow" blade performed during one of the end fights, that was a little bit much.

Nomack layed the elbow drop/atomic elbow on Blade, not the other way around. Beside elbow are very effective in a fights, like in the UFC.

THE SUPLEX?? that was sick dude.
Blade only did that to showoff to Reinhardt that He's way out of Reinhardts league and could toy with his victoms. Because Reinhardts was talking smack to Blade the whole movie.
