Newton was born in 1965 so when he was on the show he was 23 but they hired
Christopher who was born in 1958 who at that the time 31 so why did they go from a guy 23 to a guy who was 31?

That would have been great for all involved. Even Dean Cain's carreer may have worked out better.

John Haymes Newton was only 22 when he got the part for the show's first seasion in 1988. When the producers decided to change the lead actor for the show's second season, Gerard was 30 years old when he got the Superboy role in 1989.

They should have kept John Haymes Newton on the Superboy set & Gerard Christopher should have been on Lois & Clark the new Adventures of Superman.

If Newton hadn't gotten himself into trouble on and off the set, he would've been there for the show's whole run.

That is probably a true statement. Then Gerard would have been in Lois & Clark and Dean Cain still would have went on to do Rippley's.

both show's would have had a season 5 & 6 & maybe the death of superboy if john newton stayed on the set
