This show is quite simply one of the best animated shows to ever air on television. To answer the question, yes the show has adult material like cussing and blood (but not a lot at that), and it does deal with more adult oriented issues like death and sex. To call this show garbage after seeing the whole series you would either have to be at an age where you still think girls have cooties or you are just insensitive.
Besides being one of the best animated shows on television ever, it is also a really good spiderman series. -

Are you beep kidding me? Laughable villains, stories that fizzle, garbage animationthis show was a JOKE. It was NOT Spidey, and any real Spidey fan wouldn't be caught dead singing it's praises! This cartoon was NOT the best ever made. If it was, then Marvel wouldn't have pulled it from MTV and thrown it back into re-development. That's right, re-development because guess what? The vast majority of people thought it was trash.
This was the Batman Forever of Spider-Man toons.
I'm the best there is at what I do, and that ain't pretty. -

Just FYI, Marvel didn't pull it from the air to be reworked. What happened was that Sony, Marvel, and Mainframe entertainment who were working on the series felt that MTV wasn't drawing the show proper attention, fair enough since MTV doesn't know it's a$$ from a hole in the ground when it comes to television. I mean, look what happened to Clone High and Undergrads. So these 3 companies decided to wait on producing another season until another station would sign on to air it. Well, that has been in limbo for a while now and odds are the project will die at this stage with the only interest likely to come around only after Spiderman 3's release.
As for the vast majority of people thinking that the series is trash, that's pretty much a lie. Most message boards are divided on the series, love or hate and nothing in between. But basically, for as many people out there that don't like the series, there are people who do. I say judge for yourself, but in case you want some evidence of all the claims that I have made above, follow the yellow brick road:

Just to let you know
Marvel didn't pull it from MTV it was slotted as a one season special. It has such a strong fanbase there is still talk about wether or not to continue, it didnt get the greatest raitings that is true but that was because it didn't have a set time slot. -

I didnt see much of it, but what I did see, I regretted; it had Spidy sitting on a wall cussing out a bunch of officers.
What makes me glad about it now is that the show seems unsuccesful, not only for Stan Lees sake but for all of the marvel people out there. Make mine Marvel, but not if it's this. -

"it had Spidy sitting on a wall cussing out a bunch of officers."
I don't recall that happening, but do you even know who Spider-Man IS? He's Marvel's only hero who isn't condoned by the authorities in any way at all. For all the good he does, he's revered as a maniacal criminal. If some cop accuses you of stealing a woman's purse after you apprehend the true thief, aren't YOU going to be a little indignant? -

I didn't mention the mutants because everyone hates them just for what they are, not what they do. There ARE people who like Spider-Man and what he does, but Spidey only sees them as the extreme minority (and most of them aren't cops). Besides, aren't they really more at secret war amongst themselves than trying to save the world like Spidey or the Ultimates do?
