Children boys going into war with guns and ****.
There is a good reason why that garbage is underrated.

This kid went through serious childhood trauma and may have PTSD as a result of the abuse.
That would take years and years of therapy.
Not just repeating over and over, "It's not your fault," give him a hug and he is cured and it's done.
Therapists need to maintain an emotional distance from their patient/client.
They do not or should not end up hugging them.
That is not the way to help.

WP can't appreciate the scene because he didn't see the film. Plus he's a whiny bitch mealy mouthed liberal who wouldn't understand it even if he saw the film.
There are two more problems with his comments. The reporter was not a defenseless person and it wasn't a sucker punch.
