I think new Dune looks great
I'm not so sure after recently re-watching David Lynch's version from '84.
Admittedly the film was flawed and copped a lot of flack too upon release and while I have enjoyed it in the past, I wasn't getting any thematic or emotional connection from it. It all just sat on the surface.
I haven't read the books, but what can this new version do different or even better?
It just seems like a typical good guys vs bad guys story for dominance and control in the higher echelons of the elite.
Nothing new to see here is the vibe I'm getting.

I understood it, but the universal themes, even spiritual messages, seemed to not even go skin deep enough to turn it into something sublime.
Perhaps this new version will improve upon that aspect.
