Why do people like her?

She's probably my favorite actress - wonderful depth to her roles, always picks interesting films (even they don't always wind up being great), really makes audiences feel for her.
She was a gorgeous woman in her prime, and still looks quite good, if a tad matronly, today. She's very real looking, which is rare. Beautiful eyes, great smile and a very soothing, sensual voice type.
She's kind, smart, charitable and very outspoken on issues that matter.
Let me guess, you really enjoy the works of Selena Gomez, don't you? -

I feel like she plays the same person for each role despite the characters being drastically different.

God I highly disagree. She looked awful in Boardwalk Empire.

Never seen her in a movie but shes not bad to look at.
