Actually, no. This is all about civil rights, so women not having equal pay is a civil, aka, human rights issue.
When Hilary C is president she will enlighten those who do not understand.

Just to be clear I'm open minded on the discussion and susceptible to change because frankly I do know jack sh*t on the subject.

This should not be an issue anymore. Women should have equal pay. I just hope that businesses don't take it out on the consumer by raising prices to be able to pay women equally. Men who go on dates will have to choose between dating and paying the rent.

I don't get it, do "Equal Pay" supporters want it written in the constitution that men can't make more money than women? This whole argument is very confusing to me.

A lot of the Democrat platform for the Pres. election of 12 was about "the year of the woman".
Sandra Fluck spoke at the convention along with several Hollywood women, Kerry Washington, Eva Longouria, and Scarlett Johannson.
Why didn't these women ALL take up the issue with the Democrats in the Senate who at that time were the majority.
A good portion of those Dems were not paying their female staff as much as the male staff, and that included Obama's WH.
How about all the actors in that audience who are being paid 10 million a movie for a few months work, take 10& pay cut and donate it someplace the DNC, SAG, whatever so that it can be evenly distributed.
Talk is cheap open your wallets, or do you only do that overseas?
Arquette will back Hillary in 2016, but did she know when she was Senator of NY she paid her female staff over 30% less than her male staff?
                  It's easy to look up.

All too often, women still receive lower pay than men for the same work. It's high time we have equal pay for equal work. It doesn't need to be Constitutional, but rather boycotting businesses that don't honor their female employees with the same pay for the same work. We still have a glass ceiling in place in so many ways, as well.

Maybe women should pay for themselves on dates? Equality should have no exceptions. And the pay gap is a myth.

In the most egalitarian countries they do pay for themselves. The man footing the bill is an outdated custom.

The 77% number is a lie but I'm not counting on those that WANT to believe it to ever come around. It is against the law to pay women less for equal work and it doesn't happen in 95% of the industries out there. Male lawyers don't bill more than female lawyers, male doctors aren't more expensive than female doctors (in the same specialty), and as a teacher, I can confirm that male teachers don't make 23% more than female teachers. Ironically, two industries where females MIGHT be subject to wage discrimination are entertainment and politics. If Patricia wanted to argue wage discrimination based on Hollywood paying male actors more than female actors, that would be interesting. However, I find it grating that all these champions of the little guy are doing so wearing dresses and suits that cost more than most peoples' yearly salaries and who all attend these exorbitant parties. I'm not suggesting these people not earn what the market is willing to pay but they are no champions of the middle class and to pretend to be so is evident that they are good at their artacting.

I worked in corporate environment for years.. I spent 15 at IBM.
Every manager I had was a woman.
Every project manager I had was a woman.
Of the 5 team leads I had while there, all but one was a woman. The only one with the techincal experience the job REALLY required.. you guessed it, the 1 male who was there for a year (before he had enough of the incompetence and left). His replacement was a corp yes-woman.
                                IBMs CEO is a woman.
About half the people I worked with daily were women and they got away with behavior that NEVER would have tolerated by a man.
Here is a list of women in the Idiot Obama administration, ranging from 32-59%.
