I've been thinking, with Daniel Craig out of the picture, wouldn't it be awesome to bring Pierce back, but make his character one of a more jolly but jaded agent, like his character in No Escape, while at the same time preserving the hard-edge, realistic style of the newer Bond films? They could even do a few more Bonds with Brosnan, then retire the series once he gets too old to film (he's got to die at some point, right?) I don't know about you guys, but I thought his No Escape character was a highly entertaining but realistic way to portray one of these combat-elite guys at the end of their careers. What do you guys think about that?

What the beep are you talking about? He was fired from he role because he never really got along with the producers and I doubt he has any interest in playing James Bond again specially when the producers still are the very same who he never got along.
And Daniel hasn't given up yet, but definitely won't go further than a fifth film. By the way, no, Idris Elba cannot be Bond. The Bond character is white, 6'0 tall, black hair and has blue eyes. It has to be an actor with these features.
Bond's physical description has generally been consistent: slim build; a three-inch long, thin vertical scar on his right cheek; blue-grey eyes; a "cruel" mouth; short, black hair, a comma of which falls on his forehead. Physically he is described as 183 centimetres (6 feet) in height and 76 kilograms (168 lb) in weight.
Only Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan came close of being real life versions of the literal character if you think about it. -

Instead of another Bond for Pierce, why not a different action movie, something like The Rock (minus Michael Bay)? Yeah, he did November Man, Survivor, and No Escape, but he needs something more memorable than those. Unfortunately, Pierce hasn't had anything memorable since GoldenEye.
