Love to see it. One of the best actors around. Not so good director though.

That would be great. Respectfully, I think he has done some great directing.

Clint Eastwood doesn't plan to play Dirty Harry again.
He said several times that he doesn't want to repeat himself.
He thinks that among the five Dirty Harry movies he made, two were too many.
He didn't say which movies he was talking about.
But these movies are probably The Dead Pool and The Enforcer, in my opinion.
Despite their qualities, these movies are the worst of the Dirty Harry franchise.
Clint made The Dead Pool in order to thank Warner Brothers for supporting him when he wanted to make Bird, which was not a box office hit.
The Enforcer didn't bring something new in the Dirty Harry franchise but it was entertaining enough. The fact that Dirty Harry has a female colleague in this one is interesting.
The best movie is the original by far.
Magnum Force and Sudden Impact were very good too.
These movies, with The Enforcer, made Clint Eastwood a superstar in the 70's and the 80's.
Magnum Force is an answer to critic Pauline Kael, in many ways.
Indeed, Pauline Kael said that Dirty Harry was fascist.
So, in Magnum Force, Harry Callahan fights against a bunch of police officers who act like fascist. But it didn't convince Pauline Kael.
Sudden Impact is different and can stand alone.
In this one, Clint Eastwood played with his screen persona like he did in The Gauntlet, Bronco Billy, Honkytonk Man, Tightrope, or Heartbreak Ridge.
I like all the five movies.
My favorite are Dirty Harry, Magnum Force and Sudden Impact.

And I think Clint Eastwood is one of the best American directors today.
When he became a director in 1970, it was a major step of his career.
If he's still working today, it's probably because he is a director. A gifted one.
Many great actors of his generation are retired: Gene Hackman, Sean Connery,
              Jack Nicholson.

If he did, it would be as Harry Callahan all retired. After all, Clint is in 90s' now, and he didn't want to play Dirty Harty at retirement age - imagine Dirty Harry on duty at 90.

Clint could only play Dirty Harry now as a very old guy who's retired.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

Sure, as long as the closing shot shows his tombstone with his name and epitaph which would be, "So do ya feel lucky, punk?"
"Please vote to preserve the unique character of Warren…" - Robert Duvall
