I've liked his movies for almost 30 years. He's never had an acting class, just do2000es it. He's been my favorite male actor. Sad to hear so many accounts that he's very rude and mean.
Yes, true you lose your anonymity as a star and you may have had a rough personal life. Even though you're talented and have the wealth you do. You still put your pants on the same way as everyone else. We all die. -

Whatever his failings, we, as the viewing public, do not have to deal with them. His co workers may find him hard to deal with but that is up to them to do something about. I do not choose my doctor based on how he treats the nurse in the OR who may get a chewing out for making a mistake!! I choose him based on what he does for me. Tommy Lee Jones delivers to me a good performance every time in movies that I enjoy. 'Nough said!!

Tommy Lee Jones is the vilest, most reprehensible scum of the earth I have ever encountered in my life as a movie publicist. And Woody Allen (with whom I worked on 4 movies) is the nicest, most modest, and sweetest guy you'd ever want to meet (and NO, he is NOT a child molester!!!) "Nough said" indeed!

I kept hearing the same about TLJ and decided to dig a little. I shockingly saw quite a few videos showing him signing autographs for fans. Actually saw a SMILE OR TWO! He did seem uncomfortable, NOT NASTY. Couldn't blame him amidst all the "TOMMY,TOMMY" screams all around him. In one he actually announces "I'm sorry guys but I don't want to sign for one of you and not the rest" . And it wasn't said RUDELY. He may just honestly be the sort that does not feel comfortable with that type of attention or adoration. Actually he seemed awkward and SHY. Many actors are. My end thoughts-if he's "on duty" at a premiere,etc it's okay to approach. If he's in a restaurant chilling with family, or buying condoms at a drugstore BACKOFF. Actors are human too. We fans, in general, take ANY refusal to sign,pose,shake or fist pump at our demand as RUDE-no matter how respectfully they decline. They don't always have a spare hour or two every day to devote to this. However,a quick nod,smile or wave would be a nice acknowledgement to a fan and takes little or no time. Most will do this no problem, in my experience. The leachy, clingy, "sign 100 of these so I can sell them on EBay" fan ruin it for the rest.

I like him a lot. I think of the line about not suffering fools lightly. Some people get impatient and irritable when they get old.I am and I am actually very lovable. I just don't have patience for people who just don't get it and are fake as hell
