So true. I think people are often confusing the pictures or videos she uploads using filters, and what her face actually looks like. I still think she's quite beautiful, a rebel and a pioneer.
There's no winning, no matter what women do.

It's pretty stupid, not to mention how petty it is. What's even more twisted is when ageist attacks are coming from people in their 40s or 50s. Everyone's turn will come to be on the receiving end of these types of mocking attacks, and the ones yelping those attacks are in for a rude awakening, especially any woman doing the attacks who is under the impression her looks will last forever so she stops developing her brain, has no interest, no foot in reality, and has a need to self-aggrandize to feel better.

Im a big fan but some of us fans are disappointed with all the fake surgery and posery when we like her just the way she is.

I understand that. I enjoyed her earlier music quite a bit. Unfortunately, women, especially in any entertainment industry like music and movies, as the article points out, society puts this "expiration date" on women that their male peers simply do not have thrust upon them.
As for Madonna specifically, I think she has always been one to push boundaries and break stereotypes. With the advent of social media, she's swimming in the same current.

I disagree, and at times Madonna seems like a hypocrite. She rebels, fights boundaries, and challenges taboos but gets surgeries, does pop, and promotes just like the rest of the formulaic teenyboppers. I really dont think she wouldnt sell if she went her way and the ones that stop following arent really her fans to begin with.
