    Julianne Moore shows up.
I'll admit up front I am not a fan. Whenever I'm watching a film I plan to enjoy and she shows up, it always seems to be the same type of role: no nonsense, alpha female, ball busting be-yotch. Think "Ideal Husband", "The Fugitive", "Jurassic Park", "Children of Men", "Next" and so on. Some may find it type casting. Some may enjoy these roles for lady actors. I find it off putting.
I also think she is well suited for these parts, and so the reason she is cast in them.
The only exception for the movies I've seen would be "Crazy Stupid Love", in which she plays a slightly more vulnerable character, but still was the one to cheat on her husband with a co-worker. I'm sure there are other exceptions, but I do not go out of my way to see any movie with her in it.

And whose balls does she 'bust' in "Boogie Nights", one of her most famous roles?

Never saw "Boogie Nights". But I'm guessing it was Mr. Reynolds?

Make a suggestion and I'll give it go.

I think he should be raised and brought up all over again and differently so that his button for misogyny is turned off completely.
