Never saw the talent, never saw the appeal, never knew she would be as big as she is. Overrated and not attracted.

I like Julia and I think she's great in certain genres, like romantic comedies, and in certain roles where she really has the chance to showcase her range. But she definitely isn't the best actress. I saw her on Broadway a couple years ago, and quite frankly her performance was absolutely terrible. She certainly isn't suited to live theatre acting.

What you're not doing here is telling us if you ever even SAW any of her movie roles. Hm
And if she is so 'unattracted' (I am assuming you meant to say 'unattractive'), then how did she land the title role in "Pretty Woman"? If she was (presuambly) so miscast in the role, then how do you account for her Golden Globe win, Oscar nomination, and the huge box office take of the movie itself? -

Makes perfect sense! You could have stretched your logic even further, and come up with something just as brilliant, like: 'she is actually a trained hypnotist who put the entire world into a collective trance, tricking us into liking her!', or 'we just all feel really SORRY for her, and wanted to grant her a show-biz career, to avoid hurting her feelings!'

Mass hysteria? You honestly think people will simply see a movie and give the chick an Oscar because it's what everyone else is into? If so why don't Leonardo DiCaprio (1) or Robert De Niro (2 and not since 1981) win way more Oscars? Do you think Hilary Swank won due to mass hysteria?
It always humors me when people think their opinions outweigh everyone else. I for instance am not a fan of Leo but I can understand why some people do. I don't even like Julia anymore but I do think she deserved her Oscars at the time. -

I like her, and most of her moviesbut I think if you want to know the REAL Julia, watch Nottinghill. I think Julia Roberts was playing Julia
Roberts, not Anna Scott. I've heard that she can be a real beech. -

She is a pretty face. Her movies are so bland and boring. I have never seen her push herself.
I concur. She is the Mayweather of actresses. Plays it safe.
She knows she is a bad actress and just a pretty face. -

If her movies are 'bland and boring', that is the fault of the film-makers, not Julia. And when in the past has she said anything to the effect of "Hey, I truly AM a bad actress, with JUST my looks going for me?"

Well, I can agree that the film-maker is at fault for making a boring movie, but , Julia picked the role. No one forced her to take it. She could have picked something that challenged her as an actor. Take Charlize Theron in "Monster". Not a big budget movie but a great part for an actor to stretch herself.

She was nominated for an Oscar twice. I don't get it. I never got her appeal. I am watching Steel Magnolias right now, that is what brought me here. I can't believe how terrible she is in this film. I think the casting couch rumors are true.
