Overrated:
Saving private Ryan: in every rating of war movies this seems to be in the Top 10, but I watched a lot war movies and I think there are a lot better, older and newer ones. This goes for the famous initial scene also: Yes, its truly great, but it is often described so huge as if there was never any realistic fight scene in a war movie ever before.
Underrated:
War of the Worlds: I know many who dislike it. But I thought the early invasion scenes are very good. Mostly I like that Tom Cruise is a depicted as a real loser dad, and in a very convincing way contrary to the image Cruise cultivated in his movies. I love that scene, when he throws the bread against the window. -

The OP's entire criticism of Schindler's List was plagiarized from another website. It's the exact same written complaints that have cropped up on other websites, like Roger Ebert.com or Rotten Tomatoes, word for word. Either it's the same guy spamming this paragraph of guff, or the OP is just copy pasting.

Saving Private Ryan is EXTREMELY overrated. I thought Ryan himself was an unlikeable character and the clichd dialogue got a little too much. It's not too bad though, so I gave it a 7.
The Terminal is a real gem, very underrated. -

Jaws is pretty much my favorite Spielberg movie

Duel looks like it could be awesome, I have it on my watchlist. Richard Matheson is a great author and Spielberg's directing is probably great there too. -

Overrated:
E.T. - contains all the worst aspects of his filmmaking, very sappy and manipulative, no explanations for key events (why does E.T. get sick? how does he get better?)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind - extremely dull and slow.
Lincoln - stupefyingly dull and unengaging. Day-Lewis is the only good thing in it.
Saving Private Ryan - aside from that astonishing opening sequence, I didn't find anything remarkable about it.
War Horse - extremely uninteresting in every way.
Underrated:
A.I. - even though I think it has problems it's a very interesting and complex film, and one of his most ambitious and ambiguous.
Jura7ecssic Park - one of his very best, Hollywood blockbuster filmmaking at its finest. This was truly the moviegoing experience of a lifetime for me. I know it's a beloved film yet it's not really considered a great film or one of his best, but cinema just does not get more exciting than this.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - this movie often unfairly gets criticised, but it is in some ways the quintessential Indy flick, it's the wildest, most over-the-top one, and the one where Indy is at his most witty and heroic.
The Lost World - even though nowhere near as good as JP, it's still a lot of fun and didn't deserve the harsh reception it got.
Hook - it's a perfectly entertaining family adventure. As a kid I loved it. -
