Why is Baldwin clearly lying about not pulling the trigger?

He keeps saying the gun malfunctioned, which when the gun was tested it was shown to be impossible to have malfunctioned. Even if it was possible the likelihood the gun malfunctioned in the brief moment he had it in his hand and pointing at the cinematographer is so slim it's not even realistic to consider. Lying about this just makes it look like he has something to hide.
He just tried to get the case thrown out over this but failed:
A judge has rejected Alec Baldwin‘s argument that his case should be thrown out because the FBI destroyed his Colt .45 revolver during testing.
The ruling keeps Baldwin on track to face a trial on July 9 in Santa Fe, N.M., on the charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin is accused of negligently pointing the revolver at Hutchins while working to set up a shot.
He has denied pulling the trigger, though the state intends to show that the gun could only have fired if the trigger was pulled.
Baldwin’s attorneys have argued that the gun may have malfunctioned due to pre-existing damage, but that the FBI testing prevented the defense from examining the gun in its original state, making it impossible to know for sure.
In her ruling on Friday, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer held that the defense had failed to show that the undamaged gun would be exculpatory. The judge also ruled that the defense theories about the gun were largely speculative, and not backed by substantial evidence.
As an alternate remedy, the defense had asked that prosecutors be barred from arguing that Baldwin pulled the trigger. Marlowe Sommer denied that as well, but found that both sides could fully explore how the gun was damaged during trial testimony. -

Did you see that the judge dismissed the case which means he got away with murder even though he did pull the trigger and fired that weapon.

"Murder" means he intended to kill the person. He is an actor who relied on his armourer to give him proper equipment and was told that what he was handling was safe.
Personally, since I own firearms, I would never point at someone and pull a trigger, but I am also familiar with firearms. That doesn't mean actors are. It means armourers are supposed to be, and she was negligent.
After this incident, perhaps there will be more stringent training for actors in the future. Perhaps after this incident, no hot firearms will be allowed on movie sets.
I'm really not following this whole situation closely, but in the movie business, each department has their respective responsibilities to fulfill and need to be held accountable.

The 28-year-old son of martial arts icon and legendary screen star Bruce Lee was killed in a freak accident on the set of “The Crow” on March 30, 1993, when fellow actor Michael Massee was supposed to shoot him at close range with a harmless pistol.
But when Massee fired the .44 Magnum revolver, the gunpowder in the blank cartridge ignited a bullet fragment that became embedded in the barrel — propelling it into Lee’s body about 15 feet away at the Carolco Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina
The fragment was apparently part of a dummy shell that became lodged in the barrel — in what is known as a “squib load” — during a previous scene without anyone realizing and hit Lee with virtually the same force as a live round.
Michael Massee ended up dying from cancer, and I'm willing to bet the stress of his incident played a huge part. Accidents happen, and when a fatality happens, the workings of how things props are created and handled need to be examined more thoroughly.

There is no excuses for this.
Since Baldwin was the triggerman and a producer he should have known better and should pay since he didn't.

When you buy a car, and there's a malfunction which causes you to lose control of your car, is that your fault? If it has nothing to do with proper maintenance, but you expect the car you bought to be as represented. Same thing.

to kill her. He was acting out a scene that was to take place holding a weapon that he was told was
"cold,"
(ie: not "hot") and thus trusted his weapons master to have cleared that weapon and only hand him a weapon that was "cold" or a "prop" and thus would be
safe to use.
Just because they are actors doesn't mean they know how to handle "hot" weapons or even recognize them. Something similar happened in the death of Brandon Lee.
It's like when you're a surgeon and you trust the anesthesiologist to be administering the proper medications, just as they claim they do, just as they've been trained to do, and the surgeon cannot be blamed if the patient wakes up during surgery; that was the fault of the person responsible for anesthesia.
That being said, no, firearms don't "just go off" on their own. One must pull the trigger themselves. The same way that sidearms and rifles don't go walking around on their own and shoot individuals or groups all by themselves. They don't grow legs and take on a life of their own. Their use always comes down to the person handling the weapon and pulling the trigger.

Which happened first and since then every actor should have been more careful to have avoided that ever happening again.
I mean, it is so ****ing retarded that this should have happened at all when they are pointing and shooting a gun at someone even though it is supposed be just blanks.
Asshole Breeder Baldwin has to take responsibility for not checking the gun in the first place.
You would think that by then they could have stopped with having any guns on set anywhere and everytime filled with anything to fire and instead CGI the flash and put in a sound effect of it shooting.
