Actually she said "Repossessed" was the best thing to happen to her. Just watch "Movies That Shook The World: The Exorcist" I believe she said it there

is that because she regretted making The Exorcist?

I think Linda is aware that not all actors even get a role that is as successful and popular as Regan in "The Exorcist". She will be remembered forever for that part, and she has stated herself that she was "a part of a very big piece of film history" by being in that film.

A damn fine piece of history although it may be difficult to put up with at times - I don't know how her patience can handle it! Lmao Love you Linda!

I read somewhere that she said when she saw the movie it scared the pure crap out of her, just like everybody else!

I think she said she still had some back problems till today because of the bouncing bed. Other than that, from what I've heard her say, she likes her work in the movie and the movie itself.

We met Linda last year and had a limited edition figure of Regan signed by her. She kind of laughed and rolled her eyes when we pulled it out for her to sign, then we got into a conversation about the Regan character with her. She said she likes it just fine, and it got her started, but she's "so over everyone thinking Regan is what made her and who she is today". The most important thing to her to date is not acting, but saving pitbulls and has made it her mission to help people understand the type of dogs they are versus how the media portrays them.

The Exorcist is the only reason most know her and what made her into a celebrity. It changed her life drastically. Without that single film, I doubt she would be anywhere near as successful. I don't agree with her at all. It definitely made a huge difference in her life and made who she is today.

I find it hard to see why it would be regretful

When she first saw the film in 1973, she said that she "knew she'd been a part of something that was going to change her life forever," and she was right.
I'm sure she's probably tired of talking about it, but there's really nothing she can do about the fact that people want to discuss it. I'd imagine she's grateful for it despite how annoying it is to have to acknowledge it all the time. It's one of the most legendary films in history, and her part is integral to that (not to mention she was amazing in it). All that said, she's had to discuss the film with the media, the fans, and the public on hundreds, if not thousands of occasions for over forty years now. Imagine having the obligation to discuss something you did when you were twelve when you're fifty years old it's understandable why she's not amped up about it anymore; it's deep in her past, while the character lives on in the screen.

She stated in the making-of that she didn't know what she was doing during the crucifix masturbation scene being too young to know anything about sexuality. But I wonder how she felt later-on when she realized that she had been talked into simulating masturbation in front of the camera. I guess she would never tell us if it bothered her afterwards.

I read somewhere that it was not her who did the masturba2000tion scene, but a stunt double.

The double only appeared in the close up shot of the crotch area. Everything else was Linda, as can plainly be seen in the on-set footage shot by Owen Roizman included in the extras on the dvd.
