I don't know why but as Franknfurter he exuded an ambiguous sexuality that was a real turn on.

Yes, SOME men in drag is more along the lines of what I meant. And as another poster pointed out, a man dressing in drag to the point of looking or at least TRYING to look like a woman is hardly the same; a man dressing in drag in terms of Cabaret-style lingerie yet remaining butch is certainly my cup of tea!

It's not weird at all. I love the sexual ambiguity.
There is this one part where he is singing "Sweet Transvestite" and he sings the line "Well you got caught with a flat well, how 'bout that?" He raises one eyebrow and it's totally hot! -

I think this was the first movie that I was aware of seeing him in and I was absolutely attracted to him (and I was still quite young). So that would be a major "yes" to being a female fan of his that was attracted to him in fishnet stockings and heels, lol.
