he can be bad too. his thing was overacting. his characters were usually crazy. he parodied that on the original SNL. but he could also tone it down and be pretty decent. and her mom was just a great actress. subtle.
i don't know. i realize many like Laura Dern but she just sucks the life out of movies.

I've never been a Star Wars fan. Maybe the OP was rejected by Laura Dern in a club sometime. He sure does hate her. She's not the greatest actress but she's far from the worst.

I kinda agree she is somewhat of a butterface. She has a very odd look which was exotic when she was young, but doesn't play so well as she gets older.

For me it wasn’t that she looks old (still younger than me so who am I to bitch?) it was more to do with how the character acted and the outfit she wore but in a way The Last Jedi is the weirdest Star Wars episode so David Lynch might approve.
