Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Chris Farley

    favrejoe — 11 years ago(May 11, 2014 05:51 PM)

I remember I was only 7 years old. I was sitting on the living room floor playing with toys. My dad was flicking through the channels on the tv. When he got to a news channel it had all this breaking news on Chris Farley and his death. I remember I stopped playing with my toys, looked at the screen that had a photo of Chris and I began to cry. I then looked at my dad on the couch and ran to him. I remember crying in his arms and yelling "Noooo Daddy He cant be dead. I miss him!" My dad told me everything would be okay. That he went to heaven. I remember crying myself to sleep in his arms.
Its amazing I had never even met Farley in person. At 7 years old, hearing about his death and seeing his picture hit me sooo hard. It felt like I knew him in person or we were related.
Chris Farley was without question one of the funniest comedians ever. It's sad because just think of what Farley could have became if he were still alive today. He was already a star before he died but could have been even bigger.
I believe he thought people only laughed at him and his size and not his jokes. I think he felt insecure about himself and was depressed. I think the drugs might have been introduced to him while in college but im not sure. But he really started once he started to gain fame. He was so depressed he started hanging with hookers. One in particular known as Heidi. I read that they appearently tried to have sex many times unsuccessfully. She was irritated and just wanted to be paid and to leave. As she was about to leave Farley collapsed by the door where she exiting. She said she could hear him having breathing problems. He even said to her "Don't leave me". She assumed he just passed out so she took a picture and left. So I'm wondering why didn't she call 911 when she knew something was wrong?

Hookers are stupid and lack morals. I can honestly say that if any of these comedic actors died today (Seth Rogan, James Franco, Nick Swardson, Dane Cook) I wouldn't think twice about it. I know everyone has a different style of comedy but no one has come close to matching Chris Farley's talent since he passed, a true legend.

I was working some **** office job that I was ultimately fired from when Farley died.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
