Here's why I won't join in on the Feldman bashing

You don't get it. Bashing is OK if you have reason to. Feldman lied about Corey haim and i hope he gets his.

I won't bash him because his life has been incredible - what do people expect, once you reach to the top to keep climbing & find another higher apex? It's only natural for someone's career to peak & then plateau or decline.
The point is, he did it - he lived it. And I'd trade lives with him today just to have his memories, knowing full well that millions of trolls would mock me & the best days are far behind me. -

THE problem with comparing Corey Feldman to Corey Haim is that Corey Haim was one of the most extremely addicted humans to walk the face of the earth. It probably wasn't his fault, its just the way he was. Remember, in Coreyography Feldman said Haim would even ask guys to have sex with him in order to "help him out" or words to that effect. Haim was just messed up times a thousand. And, honestly his mother was just an enabler that obviously didn't help Haims situation AT ALL.
So, take away the comparison of Haim vs. Feldman completely and what do you get. You get Feldman, a dysfunctional child star with horrible parents who basically blew a lot of his chances up his nose or shot through his veins. However, I do give him credit for maybe/possibly getting off the drugs and keeping his career alive enough to keep in the limelight and not be in the poor house.
At least for now Feldman's the winner. He may not be a big superstar but he keeps on being employed. He knows how the Hollywood system works and I bet he could teach a college course that would be invaluable to all that attend!

It's been a year since I originally replied to this thread, and I must say that it really doesn't seem fair to say that Corey's always been there for his friend. Haim's mother herself said that the two of them weren't as close of friends when they got olderI read

, and while I liked it, and was fascinated with a lot of it, Corey (Feldman) really didn't come across as the best influence on Corey Haim. Actually, some people think it's Feldman's fault that Haim ever got into drugs. I also thought that it wasn't entirely necessary to make claims that the other Corey tried getting Feldman to do sexual things with him. I doubt Corey would've made these claims if Haim were still alive.
I admittedly have always had a fascination with the Coreys, and am still saddened about Haim's demise, but Feldman has done a lot of things that bother me. It's mostly things he's done as a grown adult. Back in the day, he was actually rather cool. But in more recent years, he honestly comes off as an attention seeker.
On that reality show the Coreys did together, Haim definitely comes across as the more likable one between the two. I'll admit that his life wasn't as together as Feldman's, but between the two, he seems like the one you'd rather be aroundI know that that show was said to be "semi scripted," but still
Overall, I'll give Feldman credit for handling his difficult life, as well as being in some of the coolest movies of the 80s, but he often comes across as a prima donna. -

I prefer Feldman's look in the early 2000s than the styles he's sporting now, but it's his life. I don't know if I'd call him an attention seeker though.
I respect him greatly for continually speaking out regarding child abuse in the industry, because, let's face it, so many are not willing to the same. It's a huge problem, and it took guts for him to have said as much as he has, without implicating the perpetrators (mostly due to the statute of limitations, which could get him into serious legal troubles and even put his life in danger), and he has stated that he understands why people are angry and frustrated, but he knows that it would just backfire on him, which is ironic since he did nothing wrong. It's clear (to me) that he wishes he could do more, and he deeply regrets introducing Haim to yet another creep who victimized him.
He also has made a point of stating that the industry deliberately turns its back on "child actors gone wrong" and does everything possible to discredit them so that if they should ever decide to come forward, they won't be believed. And if you think about it, it makes sense. These kids are ridiculed in the media, and are not taken seriously, when it's obvious that they have serious problems. And when Haim died, he, along with Christopher Pettiet, Jonathan Brandis and Brad Renfro, were all omitted from the Oscar memorial segments when they passed, which again, seems a little too coincidental. Denying the contributions of child actors who struggled with serious issues and who ended up dying young is a way for Hollywood to try and pretend that they didn't exist.
I may not always agree with him, but I don't think he deserves the backlash and hostility that he receives from the public. At least he's standing up (as much as he can anyway) against horrible crimes that harm children. -

anyone who is a fan of feldman should check the making of doc on the bordello of blood bluray, yes that awful tales from the crypt movie. its always been a guilty pleasure of mine but the interview with feldman on that disc is one of the funniest I've ever seen. the dude just portrays himself as a total down to earth human being which is rare for actors. he is hysterical and seems to have a heart of gold. i have a ton of respect for him! not too mention kicking heroin is one of the hardest things a person will ever do.
But he's got some great stories about being on the set of that film. highly recommended even if you don't like the film, which is the majority of everyone i think.
