I can't even remember her competition that year, and I am usually good at predicting Oscars and grammys! I know Tarentino was pissed that she didn't win. I thought she should have won it too, but you know the Oscars. I mean, remember when Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburn should have won? Oscars. I don't know what to say about them.

Didn't think her performance was particularly Oscar Worthy. Good but not Oscar worthy. I hate to s*** on her but she was never known for her acting ability, let's face it. She was and still is to a certain degree a sex symbol.
Robert Forster was the most captivating, and he deservedly got an Oscar nomination. -

I don't know about Julie Christie, but I thought Pam's performance was more more convincing and full of more character complexities than Gwyneth Paltrow's in "Shakespeare in Love". I don't have any respect for the Motion Picture Academy's choices.

She absolutely deserved an Oscar nomination, along with SLJ. But the right actress hasn't won the Oscar sincewell, for as far back as I remember. And when Halle Berry won it, you knew that was all she wrote.

absolutely. possibly even a victory. Helen Hunt and Julia Roberts, two of the most ridiculous Actress wins in Oscar history.
i would have also put Sam Jackson and/or Robert DeNiro in the supporting actor race.
