she's the classic two face. straight on lighting just ruins her.
but aside from that, i would guess a combination of stress(many child actors end up feeling down when their careers wane), cocaine(basically every child actor who became adults during the late 90s were doing it), and smoking. -

Yeah, I hate to say but she looks horrendous. I decided to randomly look up her profile out of curiosity for what she is up to these days and was completely taken aback by her recent photos. I was a fan in the 90's. Being about the same age as her, I thought she was so pretty and only wished I could look like her. I can't believe its the same person. Who knows? Never heard anything about whether she did cocaine or other drugs but the speculation is not too far fetched. That said, I don't do any of that stuff but know plenty of people who do or did and who are no worse for wear appearance wise. Same with smoking. I have heard numerous accounts of her being a smoker but I've never seen it taking as much of a toll as that on anyone that early on. Who knows

OMG, what a bunch of closeted gay-boys on this board - she's not all plastic-surgeried up and she doesn't pile on makeup - probably because she doesn't give a $hit whether she's in your spank-bank or not - but she actually looks like a WOMAN.
People have become accustomed to such an unnatural look as the standard (eye shadow, rouge, and mascara applied at maximum volume), that a real woman makes people think SHE looks unusual. Sad, really. Maybelline, Max Factor and Revlon own all your a$$e$.
Not to mention she's intelligent, which, of course, also makes most of you recoil in horror that you might actually need to hold up your end of a conversation about something other than Call Of Duty volume Whatever -

Thank you, Ariana. Though I do admit, she would look a HELL of a lot better if she tamed those eyebrows, and maybe wore a BIT of makeup once in awhile I do feel that it is her eyebrows mainly, however, that make her look so unkempt. I wouldn't call her ugly or anything even close to that; the trolls on this board are in full-force with their nastiness I see.
