There are too many, but I'll go with "Lawrence of Arabia", "Venus", "The Lion in Winter", "Becket" and TV's "The Dark Angel". The first 4 are rather obvious choices, the last pick is slightly more original-

                  Ruling Class (remarkable!!)
                  Uncle Silas (creepy!)
                  Lawrence of Arabia
                  Stunt Man
Good bye Mr. Chips (it's nice to see O'toole do a little LESS O'Toole here)
                  and some runner ups
                  Lion in Winter is fantastic
Murphy's War is a little gem too. Co-stars his wife.
                  My Favorite Year too.

He was very good in his last movie role too,
                    Katherine of Alexandria
                    , aka
                    Decline of an Empire
. Thing is, instead of releasing in the theatres or even as a television movie, they decided to send it
                    STRAIGHT
to DVD, which I think sucks, because it was a good movie!!!
Anyhow, it was released on DVD just this week, & you can order it online at Amazon.com
If you love Mary and Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it, copy2000 this and make your signature!

                      My votes would be:
                      Lawrence of Arabia
                      The Lion in Winter
                      My Favorite Year
                      The Stunt Man
                      Masada
It is not our abilities that show who we truly areit is our choices

Hachmom: I agree with 80% of your list. I would replace Masada with Rogue Male. Thanks.

Thank you. Before "The Ruling Class" I wasn't aware that Peter could sing and dance.

There are far more than just 5, but my top five personally would be:
1/Masada (I fell in love with Silva!)
                                    2/How to Steal a Million
                                    3/My Favourite Year
                                    4/Rogue Male
                                    5/The Stuntman
There are others I could add: Powerplay, Lord Jim, The Lion in Winter hell, I even enjoy Svengali (although it does falter in the second half).
