He sounds almost exactly like Bert and Fozzie. Isn't that weird?

Funny, I don't recall that. I have heard him speak on a documentary about Sesame Street composer Joe Raposo, but that was several years ago. But I remember his voice as being pretty normal sounding. I'll have to clean the video and listen again, now that I'm older and more familiar with his characters.

Well, okay, in the 70's and 80's, he sounded like Bert and Fozzie, but his voice has deepened and he doesn't sound like them anymore. That's what I meant to say.

No way - they're more famous than him!
                (Sorry, Frank.)

Actually, I was just watching the outtakes on the Little Shop of Horrors dvd today(which I didnt know he directed) and kept thinking 'Why does someone keep doing a fozzie bear impression off camera'? Then of course I put two and two together and felt silly. He sounds a little different nowadays, but you're right about the similarities in the 80's at least.

He's the check out jailer in the Blues Brothers (1980). He reprises the role in Trading Places and Blues Brothers 2k.

He's also in An American Werewolf in London and sounds exactly like Fozzie Bear.
