HE will always be Dr. Sam Loomis.

Yep, I have seen him in two movies, Escape from New York and the Columbo TV-movie but he really left an impression in Columbo.

Surprised and shocked the hell out of me when I saw him in WAKE IN FRIGHT.
              DR. CRIPPEN is nice too.

Ooh, good choice. He scared the crap out of me in "Wake in Fright" too. I also particularly like his performance as the police inspector in the great little 70s Brit horror movie "Death Line" - otherwise known as "Raw Meat" to the Americans out there. Pleasence added a touch of class to everything he did - which is just as well, given some of the terrible trash he appeared in. 😛

                  "The Great Scape"
He was one of the greatest supporting actors of all time, it is incredible how people miss and remember him.

I found his portrayal of Heinrich Himmler in
                    The 5b4Eagle Has Landed
to be perhaps the most chilling Himmler portrayal ever. Like a pleasant (no pun intended) little administrator, but absolutely cold-blooded at the core.

The Guest (based on Harold Pinter's The Caretaker). Also starring Robert Shaw and Alan Bates.

Pleasence gives an absolutely fearless performance as a drunken and depraved fallen intellectual in Wake in Fright.
