I really liked his performance in Raw Meat. He made that movie. What are some other good ones?

I think his best performance was in Halloween 5 (yeah right!). I think his best performance was in the James Bond film, You Only Live Twice. Though his role as Blofeld wasn't continued, I think it should of been. We finally got to see Blofeld, and he played it better than any of the actors after him.
I shall look foward personally to exterminating you, Mr. Bond. - Ernst Stavlo Blofeld to Bond.

I recently bought THE CARETAKER, by Harold Pinter, staring Mr. Pleasence as well as the late Robert Shaw and allen Bates. They performed this play on braodway in the early sixties. Though I haven't seen all of his performaces, I would venture that the Caretaker is one of his best. You'll need a region 2 palyer or a "cracked palyer" to see it though. NO blood and gore, but some pretty fine acting.

"The Caretaker" was Pleasence's best performance, and there's no question about it. He was nominated for a Tony for the role. It's not a cheesy horror flick, it's a gritty play adapted for the screen; a fine example of what Pleasence was really capable of.

Pleasence also played the lead in the opening performances of Robert Shaw's "Man in the Glass Booth." Although Maximillian Schell did a good job in the film version, I really wish they had cast Pleasence so that I could see him in the role.

I would agree. He WAS Blofeld. It's hard to watch Savalas or Charles Grey try to pull it off.
That said, Donald Pleasance is pretty damn good in every movie I've seen him in. He's one of the be111cst character-actors ever.

Unfortunately all I know him from is HalloweenI've also seen him in a vignette of Edgar Allen Poe talesI think. I wouldn't say he was proud of Halloween, but he did it because his daughter saw something of John Carpenter's and called it cool. I would say that (walking on eggshells here) he is most widely known for Halloween.

Other than Halloween, I've seen him in Escape From New York and Jesus of Nazareth. For my favorite role outside of Loomis, I'd say J.O.N. wins.

He has always been my favorite actor ever( next to M Emmett Walsh ) and I know that he will always be famous for the Halloween movies, but I think that his greatest ever performances were in 2 little seen movies : Ground Zero - he is in it for only a little bit, but his role as a hermit living in the desert was Oscar Worthy and Wedding in White- very hard movie to find , but if you get the chance, please watch it, he is superb , but it is a tough movie to watch. He will always be missed and just think if he had lived long enough to have been in Halloween H20, who knows how many more roles he would have been offered, like Christopher Lee.

Blythe from "Great Escape." Easily pulled off the part.

He was fantastic as Blofeld and he should have appeared in subsequent Bond films, he never turned down work so I'm sure he would have appeared in them.
He was good in Halloween but I saw no need for him to have the American accent. His own voice is creepy and ideal for the role.

i really didn't think he was that great of an actor. I've seen some movies with him in it, he was just horrible so bad infact it was funny to wb68atch but he seemed nice in interviews though

I think his best performances were in You Only Live Twice, THX 1138, and The Night Of The Generals (my personal favourite). His role on an episode of Columbo in the early 1970s is worth searching for as well.
