No one said they were going to be underwater exactly ten years ago. Florida is already at risk of flooding and high tide due to greenhouse gas emissions.
The border wall is a permanent, disastrous environmental scar that will see the effects decades from now on future generations.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that disrupting migration across the entire stretch of a continent is bad.

No we haven’t, pollution and environmental impact is real and you cannot deny that. The planet is becoming actively hotter and more arid and we have put many species close to extinction,
No one is saying it’s all doom and gloom, because these issues are still fixable.
This is the first border wall that has spanned the entire stretch of North America and has produced so much pollution and disruption to the environment, it’s quite unprecedented.
