Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Christopher Walken

    LuvvieHowell — 9 years ago(May 22, 2016 06:36 AM)

The quotes and trivia listed here on IMDB make Walken sound as if he's mentally retarded, or autistic, for God's sake.
Is he REALLY that strange or is this all for PR? Doesn't know how to use a cell phone or computer, lets raccoons eat in his kitchen, lives in a separate residence from his wife
He comes off as fragile and vulnerable. And he's been the victim of crime several times.
So what is the deal with him? Just a strange quirky guy, maybe some OCD? Or there something seriously wrong with him?
Please, don't roast me for my comments. I like him as an actor, serious and comedic. (Although I've always wondered about his involvement with Natalie Wood's deaththat's for another thread.)
    Thanks.

I think you would have to know Christopher Walken personally to answer that question, I don't but I hope he's just a quirky very cool dude. He's a great dancer but I LOVED him in Suicide Kings.

I've seen a lot of the interviews where he talks about the things you mention. I don't think it's OCD or anything serious; I think he's just a guy who is slightly off-center, which is what makes him so compelling to watch and listen to. I never thought any of it was just for PR. Although in today's society I can see why you'd think it was a type of gimmick for attention. I would love to meet him. I bet he's really cool.

we have the movies we can watch at any time to see if he's ever changed in movies. i think that in the early '80s in the dogs of war and the dead zone he didnt' act so eccentric and odd so maybe it's something he started doin in the mid '80s to be more fascinating and intriguing and charismatic in movies?
