        Aside from profit, nothing really, though I can see a new director using it as an opportunity to let loose with the artistic flourishes and make a true homage that honors the original rather than desecrates it. That's assuming they hire someone passionate about the project16d0 who is a true fan of the original film and not some director treating it like a "job." If the passion for the source material isn't there, chances are it's going to suck.
