I've just read that it is mostly assumed he is gaybut I don't know for sure and I have no source to back it up. This is purely speculation, I don't care either way.

I've heard that he's gay too. But what does it matter? He's a great talent and my absolute favorite film of his is "Diary of Anne Frank". He was superb in that along with most of the cast but Millie Perkins as Anne was horrible. She and Beymer had no chemistry at all because she was a terrible actress. But he was so touching and sincere in that film that it made me a fan of his for life. God Bless Him.
