I haven't written anything on this thread but your very welcome on behalf of everybody. I just watched Sayonara for the second time yesterday and i think it's great.
      Give him my regards anyway,
      Anna-Maria

Since you were thoughtful enough to acknowledge these threads, I'd like to add my two cents. I have always had a fond regard for your father as an actor, but didn't realize why until this week. After re-reading of his passing this year, I decided to look into his career, and found "The Double Life of Henry Phyfe". I was 8 years old when that was on, but there's no doubt in my mind that was the source of my love for your father. Funny, isn't it? Be proud. He was a warm, comic actor - one of my favorite combinations

I saw his last appearance on ER, and didn't know he passed away until the end of 2006 - my boyfriend's mom told me, and I was really surprised. I didn't know he was sick like his character "Ruby" was. The fact that Ruby had closure with Dr. Carter, who wronged him ten years earlier about his wife, was a nice ending. I felt good knowing that Dr. Carter and Ruby made peace with each other.
            God bless.
            Allison 🙂

Red Buttons was a wonderful all-round actor meaning no matter whether it was drama or comedy or anything in between he nailed it. I think my favorite role of his aside from "ER" was as "Pockets" in "Hatari." When he danced with Brandy I wish they had shown more of his footwork. His expressions during that scene and his intense blue eyes were incredible. In "Sayonara" he was also incredible. I am thankful he shared his wonderful talent with the world. I know I saw him in other shows but these are the three that come to mind.

Yes, he was quite charming! Wasn't he? I even liked him in The Poseidan Adventure, because his character seemed so protective and sweet to Nanie. His performance seemed very sincere.
