They aren't "oppressed".
Most gay people with a brain simply live their lives and don't bitch about being "oppressed".
Most people with a brain already know this.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

A soft society has oppressed them.
Homosexual men used to be much more intelligent, cutting and funny back before anyone could just claim to be homosexual. They were better looking too and had decent jobs.
Lesbians were generally more insular with their social events. Everyone was welcomed to them but they pretty much stuck to their own places and expected everyone in them to show basic respect to one another.
They almost never hung out together!
Bisexuals were the brunt of the jokes from all three of the main sexual preference groups.
Transexuals were almost always quite and unseen. Whether that was through choice or people just didn't share any intimacy stories about them.
Queer is just a made up term for paedo. Homosexual men didn't like it being used against them and certainly are in no rush to see it used again.
Sophie's a queer. That's the group who think they are oppressed. Most of them grow out of it but not before they have their big intersectional gangbang that they'll immediately regret. Sophie's still waiting for that invite
There you go, a brief rundown of why the LGBTQ people aren't actually oppressed
