Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Judi Dench

I saw it as a little girl, and I even have it on a boxed DVD set of hersbut it's upstairs, and I can't remember the name of it. It was a four-part series focusing mainly on one memorable day in the life of a famly of four, with each episode told from the perspective of each family member. Judi Dench was the daughter. She had one brother in it as well, and her father was played by Maurice Denham. The characters' names were Ted, Sarah (parents), Julie and.can't recall. But, it was very intense, and very powerful. And Judi Dench's strength as an actress was quite apparent even from that early age. It's strange how I was only about 8 when I first saw it on PBS, but it stayed with me all my life. I FINALLY found it on DVD just a few years
ago, and was do happy I did.

It was called "Talking to a Stranger". It's still one of my favorite films/series and performances of all time.

It is listed in her credits for 1966 under the title Theatre 625. She won a BAFTA Best Actress award for it. BBC Four repeated it about 10 years ago.
