Why does everyone say he looks like his dad?

I mean he's tall and lanky like his dad, but he bears a very strong resemblance to his mother, particularly around the eyes. Jane, on the other hand, looks pretty much exactly like her dad in feminine form. If I didn't know he was Henry Fonda's son, I certainly couldn't tell by his face.
