Even if she did have work done, she held out for a long time with out having anything noticeable before. She is quite the natural beauty, in an unconventual sense no less. Fantastic shape, looks good still and theres something about the way she plays Willows that makes you wanna sit down and have a beer with her. At a minimum.

I have to agree with the original poster of this. After seeing her on David Letterman last night, to me she looked like she had facial work done because for a few seconds she was totally unrecognizable.

I would say it's unlikely she's had "work done" as much as that it's highly likely she's had botox injections. If you watch her face when she's talking, large sections of it don't move at all, which is the main effect of botox.
While I don't think she should have had it done, I grasp that, as an actress pushing past 50 in Hollywood, she's getting "long in the tooth" by Hollyweird standards.
I forget who it was, said she would never get botox injections and it would guarantee her a long acting career late in life because she'd be the only mature actress remaining in all of Hollywood who could actually still use her face acting in the part of an older person.
Botox has to be one of the more demented ideas ever come up with: "Here, we're going to inject deadly toxins into your face to make it look better". Ah-huh. -

Jenny McCarthy said something to that effect on oprah a while ago, about never getting botox cuz as an actress you need to move your face to express the emotions of the character and why would you do something that is going to jepordize your career.

Thats just the thing. She is good for CSI but she isn't that great of an actress because she seems to always have the same expressions. She seems kind of stone faced..kind of like the actor like Clive Owen. She doesn't seem to show any facial expression and that is a part of what being a good actor is. She is very beautiful though..but not that great of an actress.

wow! I remember first seeing her in "Fire Down Below" and then seeing her in Species 2. I watched Species 1 and she instantly popped out to me as the love interest in Fire Down Below opposite of Steven Seagal. When I saw her in Species 2, I said, "is it just me or what? Hair? Makeup? " Obviously, she was getting older and her makeup was a lot different, but she still looked lovely. THEN, I clicked on her recent picture on IMDB and it startled me..yes, she's had LOTS of work done. It's not that she's in shape and getting older, she's got something funky going on with her cheeks and her eyes.. I wish hollywood actors would just lay off the plastic surgery..it's gotten way out of hand!
Take a look at Michelle Pfeifer..she was once the cute girl next door, now she's a weird cat-like freak -

Marg Helgenberger has most definitely had work done botox is "work". I think she's had a face lift and a LOT of dermabrasion (resurfacing) on her face.and quite a bit of work around her eyes, an eyelift and fat removal and what they call "tear trough filler".
Her neck is a giveaway, as it is stringy looking. BTW: I say this as a woman who is the same age, and I guess if I had her money, I'd have my face done too! But I have rarely seen it look "natural" and it never fools anyone that you are actually "younger".
Hollywood is unbelievably cruel to women as they age past about 40 or maybe 45 at the most. The camera is unkind! and there is incredible pressure to be extremely, anorexically thin and as my mama used to say "After 40, you have to choose between your BUTT and your FACE." If you are very thin, you look great in clothes but your face looks gaunt and hollow. (Gain enough weight to fill out your face, and you won't have that "hot skinny body".)
I'm sorry to hear she has left the show, even though I stopped watching it a couple years before William Petersen left (it had really jumped the shark by then), but I did feel that Marg Helgenberger really earned her stripes after 12 years, and should have been able to stay as long as she liked, or perhaps been transitioned into "police commissioner who comes by once in a while" kind of emeritus role.0.. -

"She must have had some work done. She is too pretty."
I suppose it's possiblethat she has had some work done, but she is a redhead and they age faster than brunettes. And Marge is in her 50's.
But why should you care? You just watch her on TV. Who cares if she (or any actress) wears makeup for a particular role? Or feels she needs botox or cosmetic surgery to continue working?
She is in the business of acting in a film or TV episode. Not meeting some arcane perfect physical standard set by the ignorant mooks that do nothing more than watch her on TV. She has to satisfy the directors, and the casting directors. Not you clueless bozos.

SHE USED TO BE PRETTY . . . . YEARS AGO.
Her doctor should be sued for felony mutilation ! She does look horrible, nothing matches or is balanced on her face. She looks like somebody stretched a FISH mask over her face. This is typical Hollywood BS. These acting, bimbos can NEVER be satisfied just being themselves, and without a script in their hands, their personalities are quite nothing, and dull. The groveling "fans" have no life either, so they waste their time idolizing something else, instead of bettering themselves.
