Jim Hutton was announced to star in 20th's big budget all star comedy A Guide For The Married Man and then dropped out. Why?

I finally saw this movie. I can't picture Jim in Walter Matthau's role, but he would have been great as the guy who was giving all that advice.
Very, very funny movie!
