If you want to see him
He is always, always, always, in a Broadway production.
Which is probably why he doesn't do many screen appearances.

He's a legendary theater actor. I am a huge fan of his and think he's mindbogglingly talented, but let's face it, with the exception of The Birdcage, Frankie & Johnny, The Lion King, Mouse Hunt & Nicholas Nickleby, his film career isn't that memorable. His TV work is more successful. I laughed myself to exhaustion every time he was on Modern Family, was very impressed with his dramatic chops in The Good Wife and thought he was superb as F. Lee Bailey in The People vs. OJ.
Maybe he's just meant for the Stage and TV. Not every actor in the world is meant for the movies.

Hollywood's loss is Broadway's gain, or anywhere that he's on stage.
In "The Producers", he replied to one of the old ladies' comments that "Cash" was a strange title for a play with "So is 'The Iceman Cometh'." Ironically, he starred in that at BAM although you couldn't get a ticket unless you ran really fast after they went on sale. I've had the pleasure of seeing him in "The Frogs", "The Nance" and "It's Only a Play". He'll be back on the Broadway boards this coming season with "The Front Page", and I'm gonna jump as soon as tickets go on sale.
"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."
