The US dollar has suffered its worst first-half since 1973, and its decline may not be over.
The first six months of 2025 marked the worst half-year performance for the dollar since 1991, as mounting doubts about US fiscal strength and capricious trade policy chipped away at the currency’s status as a safe haven. The sharp decline has raised the question of how much further the world’s reserve currency might fall with neither the trade war nor US fiscal anxiety resolved.
The US Dollar Index, which measures the value of the greenback against the world’s six most traded currencies, has lost almost 11% of its value during the first half of 2025. When only comparing first-half periods, the start to this year marked the worst performance since the 1973 oil crisis and the worst half-year since the second half of 1991.

Lol at you extra chromosomes blaming Trump for the dollar tanking in 2025, just six months after he assumed office while conveniently ignoring the four years of Bidenomics that detonated the economy in slow motion.
You don't spend trillions in fake money, fuel inflation, bury the country in debt and project weakness globally without consequences. The markets didn't forget, they're still reacting to Biden's legacy of fiscal insanity, not Trump's cleanup job.
This is why FilmBoards needs a remind me bot so I can return in four years to bump these posts after Trump has cleaned up Biden's economic bomb… -

Have you completely missed what a disaster he's been in the past 6 months? It's entirely his fault. He's started pointless trade wars that have resulted in retaliatory tariffs which weaken the dollar.
while conveniently ignoring the four years of Bidenomics that detonated the economy in slow motion.
Biden left the economy in much better shape than when he got it.
You don't spend trillions in fake money
Trump printed trillions more than Biden.
fuel inflation
Covid caused worldwide inflation and Biden got it lower in the United States than the rest of the top economies in the world.
bury the country in debt
Trump added twice as much to the national debt as Biden.
and project weakness globally without consequences.
Trump kisses the ass of dictators and when he drops bombs they miss.

While it is very easy to blame Trump you have to remember that he loves a challenge and Biden set that limbo bar low and Trump is just showing that he can do it
Think Obama after Bush Two, he managed to get an out from a crushing home value being remortgaged to death market and he did it with his style.
Of course, In Hawaii they are good at limbo dancing, in New York - not so much!
