I think the answer to your question would be YES, especially if they watched Cheers, then they would definitely know Shelley Long, Plus she has also made movies too and others might know her from those movies. I always thought Shelley Long was a very good actress and I loved her on Cheers, Night Shift, and The Money Pit.

In a certain age group. I didn't know anything about her until I just watched an episode of Frasier she was on.
